Inspection requests, by text
Inspection requests die in the gap between 'work is ready' and 'someone scheduled the inspector.' Forward closes that gap by drafting the request directly from the field foreman's text — with the location, trade, and ready-date all parsed.
The pattern: inspections get scheduled late
Inspection requests are the most common cause of next-day schedule drift on commercial projects. The pattern:
- Foreman finishes the rough-in. Work is ready Thursday.
- Foreman tells the super on the walk-down.
- Super is supposed to text the PM.
- PM is supposed to schedule the inspector.
- Friday afternoon: nobody scheduled the inspector. Slab pour rescheduled.
The information traveled through three humans, dropped in two places. Forward removes the middlemen.
What Forward does for inspection requests
Foreman texts the inspection request directly. Optional photo of the work area. Forward parses:
- Trade / inspection type (rough-in MEP, framing, etc.)
- Location (room, floor, grid)
- Ready-date
- Special notes (e.g., "schedule before drywall arrives Monday")
Forward drafts the inspection request and queues it in the PM approval dashboard. PM clicks approve; Forward posts to Procore + (where wired) directly to the AHJ inspection scheduling portal.
Foreman: need rough-in mechanical inspection at room 207
third floor — ready Thursday morning, want
it scheduled before drywall starts Monday
Forward: Drafted inspection request #023.
Trade: Mechanical rough-in
Location: Room 207, Floor 3
Ready date: Thursday (4/16)
Notes: "Schedule before drywall starts Monday 4/20"
Status: Queued for Sarah Chen's approvalThe PM keeps the schedule control
Inspection requests go through PM approval before any external posting. The PM can:
- Approve as-is.
- Edit the date / type / notes.
- Reject with a reason (e.g., "not actually ready, MEP coordination conflict").
- Route to a different reviewer if the GC's process requires sub-PE sign-off.
No inspection ever lands on an inspector's calendar without a human-in-the-loop approval. The texting layer drives the field-to-PM communication; the PM remains the schedule owner.
How to try it
Text +1 (682) 300-6750 with an inspection request. The live demo will draft the record and show you the shape; your real project would post to Procore on PM approval.
Drop your email above to scope a pilot project — typically a single GC's Procore connection plus AHJ portal integration where applicable.

Drop your email above for early access — or skip the form and text +1 (682) 300-6750 from your phone. The live demo answers anything you can ask a project manager in plain English — no signup needed.
