Dedicated phone line per project
The cleanest disambiguation pattern: each active project gets its own SMS number. Field workers texting the project line don't need to specify which project — the line is the project context.
Why per-project lines matter
A foreman who works on 3-4 projects in a typical month texts the same field assistant from each one. Without per-project lines, the bot has to disambiguate which project the question is about every single time — either by asking (“Which project — Tower B, Bay-Shore, or Lincoln-2?”) or by inferring from context.
Per-project lines turn that disambiguation into a hardware problem: the foreman texts the project’s line; the bot already knows which project. No extra step, no risk of answering for the wrong job.
How Forward provisions a project line
Per-project line is a Standard / Pro feature; the Pilot tier runs on a shared per-tenant line. Provisioning is automated:
- PM clicks “Add dedicated line” on the project page in app.getforward.xyz.
- Forward requests a new SendBlue number, configures the webhook, and updates the tenant’s line table.
- The PM reposts the new number to the field crew (or prints a fresh poster with the project-specific QR).
Numbers are typically provisioned in < 60 seconds.
What you can't do without per-project lines
Two patterns that work only with dedicated lines:
- QR posters on the trailer wall. Each project gets its own QR code that pre-fills a text to the right line. Field workers scan the wall, pre-loaded message opens, no manual phone-number-and-which-project guesswork.
- Sub-coordination groups. The mech sub’s foremen text the mech-coordination line; the GC sees only the mech traffic and routes the PM-relevant pieces.
The cost trade
Each dedicated line is $120/mo over Pilot pricing (SendBlue charge passed through). Most multi-project GCs find the disambiguation benefit pays for itself by month 2 on anything past 2 active projects.
