Panel demand load

Service / panel demand load (kVA + amps) per NEC 220 standard method. Adds general lighting (per VA/sf), small- appliance + laundry circuits (residential), and applies demand-factor table for the first/over-3000-VA brackets.

General lighting: 7200 VA; small-appliance: 3000 VA; laundry: 1500 VA → 6045 VA after demand-factor brackets.
Other loads: 15000 VA (added at 100%).
Standard method, NEC 220. For dwelling units NEC 220.82 optional method may give a smaller service. Continuous loads ≥3h require 125% sizing per NEC 215.2(A)(1) — bump "other loads" up by 25% to model that.
NEC 220 demand-factor brackets used
  • First 3000 VA at 100%
  • 3001-120,000 VA at 35%
  • Above 120,000 VA at 25%

Lighting load: 3 VA/sf default for residential (NEC 220.12), 2 VA/sf for commercial office. Override-able. Continuous loads sized at 125% per NEC 215.2(A)(1). For commercial specific occupancies, NEC 220.42 has additional adjustments.
