Block count for a CMU wall given dimensions. Standard 8″×8″×16″ block (nominal — 7-5/8″ actual face dimension with 3/8″ mortar). Each block covers ~0.89 sf of face area; waste factor 5-10% covers cuts, breakage, and end conditions.
