What is Agentic commerce?

definition
Agentic commerce is commerce conducted by autonomous AI agents — discovering, purchasing, and paying for goods or services with little or no human in the loop, using machine-native payment rails.

Agentic commerce needs three things humans take for granted but agents don't have: a way to discover services (machine-readable catalogs, MCP, llms.txt), a way to pay without a checkout page (prepaid credits, x402, or delegated payment tokens), and guarantees an agent can verify (hard spending caps, itemized charges, idempotency, reversibility).

Forward implements all three so an agent can buy growth outcomes end to end. Learn more: how AI agents pay, safe autonomous spending, and what an MCP server is.
